Today's Reading is Psalm 27
David's quite confident. Read verse 1 through verse 14, and it's pretty obvious why.
Verse 4 says, "One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple." (KJV)
David put God on the throne of his heart. In other words, he gave his relationship with God top priority in his life. He tells us that even when his own parents forsake him God will still be there. As a result, David relies on God for guidance, understanding, protection and strength.
How many of us can say we have the same confidence? Perhaps that is because we haven't made God our top priority.
